JerBear's ramp 8'x 24' x 39 inches high, 7ft radius. Plywood floor under deck can be used for storage.

Base ramp deck 8'x8'. Pressure treated 2x4's leveled on blocks. Assembled using 16p nails and 3" deck screws

7 foot Radius cuts with joist hangers installed. Inside surface painted. Used 3/4" Screws to attach joist hangars.

Both ends attached to center deck. Used 10 each 3 inch deck screws and 6ea 5/16"x4.5" bolts with washers and lock nuts for each end mounted to center deck. Built a bottom support frame for radius sides.

Rough framing of ramp complete, prior to installing decking material. This is a good time to check for level and square of ramp. Use 2" deck screws to attach decking material. Pre drill holes using a countersink. Makes for quick work of setting all those screws. Placed screws about 7 to 8 inches apart in both directions.

Coping installed, bolted from underneath, 3/8"x2-1/2" bolt, 3/8" holes drilled 3 inches from each end of pipe and support. Bolts mounted from bottom. Use a box end wrench to hold nut in place while tightening from bottom. Eliminates any screw holes on top of coping bar. You can obtain Grind Bar material at a scrap metal yard. Put down silicon seal on top, bottom edge and ends of grind bar to weather seal. Support under grind bar was sealed.

Before sealing, use 100 grit sandpaper to lightly sand surface, remove all rough edges and splinters. Use a quarter round over bit to rout all edges of ramp. This will help prevent edges from splitting. Roll on penetrating waterproof coating. Then added hand rails. Recheck for level, square and everything tightened.

30 days after construction of ramp, put second coating of waterproofing. The complete exterior surface is sealed. During the last rain, first seal coat repelled water. Will put on another seal coat before cold weather sets in.

Ramp built in June 2008, 8ft wide, 24ft long, 7ft radius, 39 inches high. Using 2x4 and 2x6 lumber, 3/8" and 3/4" plywood. Joist hangers were used to support 2x6 on cross rails, plywood floor under each end deck for storage. Leveled on blocks, sections bolted together with 5/16"x4" bolts. All material painted or sealed underneath for weather protection and dry rot. Used treated 2x4's where material is in close contact with the ground. Sealed with waterproof sealer, two coats. If this doesn't work, will coat with several coats of spar varnish or skatepaint. Utah has hot dry summers and cold wet winters. Total cost for ramp was $700.00 dollars give or take a few. Have enough material left over to fabricate a launch ramp and a grind box.
